Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 22, 2026
CommercialKitchenFire.com ("we", "us", "our") operates a directory that connects restaurant and commercial kitchen owners with certified fire suppression contractors. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights over it.
1. Information We Collect
From lead forms (quote requests)
When you submit a quote request through a contractor profile, we collect:
- Full name or business name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Service type and kitchen type you selected
- Any optional project details you provide
From contractor applications
When a contractor applies to be listed, we collect their company name, service city, and contact email.
Automatically collected data
When you browse CommercialKitchenFire.com we collect your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited through our analytics provider (OpenPanel). This data is used in aggregate to improve the site and is never sold.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Lead routing. Quote request data (name, email, phone, project details) is forwarded to the independent contractor whose profile you submitted the request on. We also retain a copy in our database to track lead quality and prevent abuse.
- Contractor notifications. We email quote details to our internal notification address and, once configured, directly to the contractor.
- Service improvement. Aggregate analytics data helps us understand which pages and cities are most useful.
- Legal compliance. We may use or disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
3. Lead Forwarding Disclosure
When you submit a quote request, your contact information and project details are transmitted to the independent contractor you selected. That contractor is a separate legal entity operating under their own privacy practices. We recommend reviewing their policies before engaging their services. We are not responsible for how independent contractors handle your information after receipt.
We do not sell your contact information to third-party data brokers, lead aggregators, or advertising networks.
4. Data Retention
- Lead records are retained for 24 months from submission, then deleted.
- Contractor application records are retained for 12 months.
- Analytics data is retained per OpenPanel's default retention period (13 months).
- You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use a single first-party analytics cookie set by OpenPanel to distinguish unique visitors. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising trackers. No cross-site tracking occurs.
We also use localStorage to cache your approximate city and state (detected via IP geolocation) for 24 hours so the search bar can pre-fill your location. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
6. California Residents — CCPA Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed, and to whom
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@commercialkitchenfire.com. We will respond within 45 days.
7. EEA / UK Residents — GDPR Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your data when you submit a lead form is your consent (you voluntarily provided the information to receive a quote). You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability
Contact us at privacy@commercialkitchenfire.com to make any such request.
8. Data Security
All data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authenticated personnel only. We do not store payment card information — all billing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
9. Children's Privacy
CommercialKitchenFire.com is a business-to-business service not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data through our platform, contact us for immediate deletion.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be posted to this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
